Résumé

I have recently submitted my PhD thesis at the King’s India Institute, King’s College London, titled “JNU is not Just Where you go, it’s What you Become,” Everyday Political Socialisation and Left Activism at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. My ethnography, drawing from political science and sociology focuses on contemporary student politics, left activism, youth political careers and processes of politicisation in Indian campuses. I teach courses on Indian Democracy, Social Movements in South Asia and Political Science in Sciences Po Paris and I am co-editing a forthcoming edited volume on student movements in contemporary India. Apart from being involved in survey analysis I specialised in digital humanities, which led me to create the PaRChA (Pamphlet Repository for Changing Activism), an online platform of around 70,000 original pamphlets produced by student organisations in Jawaharlal Nehru University. While conducting my fieldwork, I was a research fellow at the Centre de Sciences Humaines in New Delhi. Before joining King’s, I completed two Masters; in International Affairs in Sciences Po Aix-en-Provence and in Global Studies in a consortium comprising JNU and two other European universities.

Cf. Education // Flexibility, openness, teamwork, scientific discipline, innovation are the key components of this lengthy but rewarding doctoral research. Completing my critical knowledge as an “area specialist” is not only my responsibility, it’s my obsession. I do have the hope to share as soon as possible my findings while working/teaching in academics & developmental international organizations.
